Our Charity Efforts

The Zaruka family started the Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center in 1986 in Ventura, California. Since the beginning, Wedgewood has been giving back to the Ventura community. For more than 25 years, Wedgewood Ventura has hosted many charity events, community groups and local fundraisers. John and Linda Zaruka have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local groups such as Food Share and the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura County. In August of 2011, John and Linda reached the milestone of 25 years in business. They turned the celebration into an outdoor concert that raised $25,000 for Food Share Ventura. Recently, Wedgewood adopted The Cure for Breast Cancer as their corporate charity of choice. Corporate-wide promotions are focused on raising money for this worthy cause.

Starting in 2003, Wedgewood became more than just a one-location family operation. Throughout this period of growth, the Zaruka family has maintained its commitment to local charity efforts. Each individual Wedgewood location is very involved in its local community. We host charity golf events, donate to local schools, support youth sports and host groups such as Rotary and Kiwanis at a discounted rate. Some of our golf locations are recognized as Certified Audubon Sanctuaries because of the work they do to protect the environment. When doing business with Wedgewood, you can be assured that you are doing business with an organization that cares about you and the local community.
